Injection and blocks
Quick diagnostic imaging procedure for muscles, tendons and joints
What is an injection
A medical procedure in which a doctor administers injections directly into tendons or muscles, the procedure is monitored using ultrasound (US). Injection into tendons or muscles under control US can be used to precisely guide the needle to deliver the drug or substance directly to a specific anatomical area.
When are injections used?
Most often, these types of injections are used to treat various diseases of the muscles, tendons, joints, or peri-articular tissues. Examples include:
- Tendonitis: Injections may be used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation in the tendon area.
- Treatment of muscle spasms: In some cases, especially when muscle spasms are painful, injections can be used to relax the muscles.
- Treatment of degenerative joint disease: In the case of degenerative joint disease, injections may be used to relieve pain and improve joint function.
- Rehabilitation after injuries: Injections can also be used in the rehabilitation process after muscle or tendon injuries.

Precision of the treatment
I use ultrasound to view anatomical structures to optimize injection accuracy which can increase the effectiveness of treatment and minimize potential side effects.
